| The Puzzy Brothers provided a Lumber Saw at a reduced price that was paid for by the Antioch Congregation of Ohio. Missionary Roger King assembled the Lumber Saw and with the support of his family and friends trained deaf men to operate the equipment to have a source of income and to bless the mission with the needed lumber. The original home of this lumber saw is the Silent City Mission of 1,500 Hectares (about 3,000 acres) where both the edge of the north jungle and the edge of the south plains meet in Meta, Colombia, South America. This property was provided through a vision, faithful prayer and unforeseen events of mission experience giving God the praise. The experiences will eventually be shared on this Web site under the title; "God's Provisions from unforeseen sources. To summarize, after the Guerrilla made their attack in the area of the Silent City Mission near the Rio Guaviare, destroying the cessna with machine gun fire and capturing Pilot Russell Stendal... (Read the Book 'Rescue the Captors') after a short period of time, the deaf men at the Silent City Mission were dominated by the Guerrillas helping themselves to the electric plant, water pump, and many other meaningful items. As if that was not enough, our mission school building was torched. The Parra family knowing the Guerrillas would return to take the Lumber saw & tractor, they discretely transported the equipment including the tractor to an isolated farm where the equipment has been covered & stored for several years. With the Guerrilla activity having seemed to calmed down in the area of the farm, Francisco Sanchez who serves on the Colombia Mission Board of Advisors, went with a mechanic to the farm and checked on the equipment. He has informed That the Lumber saw and the tractor both can be restored. The Lumber saw instead of rusting away, needs to be transported, repaired put into service in support of the mission and to aid unemployed deaf to have an income to feed and Provide clothing & shelter for their family. We realize there are many who can not financially help with this meaningful project. But just as we ask you to pray with us, you also can ask your trusted friends to pray for this need with you. The effort will be appreciated. Here is a suggestion from your Mission Partner; "When you pray for someone in need, ask your Heavenly Father to provide for the need and add, 'meet this need through me!' The addition gives our Father a vessel to work through. Should He chooses to provide through you from an unforeseen source, The experience will be up lifting to both you and others. Should He choose to provide through another, you will be so glad that you participated in taking the time pray!" -Bernie Hale The missionary experience that lead to the provision of this Lumber saw will be shared in our Video section or In print at a later date. The following is a small segment from; GOD'S PROVISIONS FROM UNFORESEEN SOURCES; Questioning if God really hears a prayers with all the people in the world making their prayer needs known, Bernie also thought about the silence from friends who promised to pray with him for specific needs. This brought him to a place of feeling very alone in the efforts to help the deaf children and deaf adults. With the "feeling alone" experience, the words of Jesus came to mind when Jesus was in the Garden of Gethsemane and asked the disciples who He also called friends; 'Could you not have prayed with me for just one hour?" -As told by Missionary Bernie Hale. Faced with a need for equipment to harvest lumber for the mission construction. When the hour came to inform my deaf disciples that I had no money to buy and that I had no one to ask for assistance to buy the equipment. Immediately the concepts triggered their hands, communicating; 'No money! He doesn't have any money!' Then the youngest of them "Govvie" with a very serious look on his face, motioned for them all to give him their attention and then he continued communicating manually... "We have something better than money!". With a stern look, his hands pause and he looked at every one and as his eyes met mine a smile appeared as he communicated, "We have the ability to pray". Those concepts brought us all to our knees and I no longer felt alone. But, I still questioned if God heard me and saw my disciples silent prayers in the visual language. A time I was asking; 'God where are you?' Later, through a series of miraculous mission experiences, the Lumber saw was provided. With the lumber saw, God provided more than what we asked, He provided, the Lumber Saw Mechanic and the lumber saw Instructor; "Missionary Roger King, and throughout the entire event, He also provided our financial & material contributors who have since been among our faithful partners in prayer, the Puzzy Brothers, and members of the Antioch Congregation of Ohio. By then, I knew That from the very first hour we prayed, our prayers did reached the heart of our Heavenly Father, He did hear my prayer and did see the silent prayers of the deaf disciples. One would think That the blessing would stop there, but not so....(To be continued) |
